At the soul of folk music

For more poetry and stories from Ruby and other authors in her writers' collective, visit shevoices.net.

The She Voices include the gripping thriller writer Margaret Whittock (darkmournepress.com) and insightful fantasy novelist Camilla Reeve (palewellpress.com).

Ruby sings from the heart about fury, lust, disintegration, fear, hope and beauty in London today.  Her songs are enhanced by a variety of guitar styles and diverse wind and stringed instruments.

Ruby has worked hard to develop her own, original sound, gaining recognition from New York based label Factory Fast Records and a wide range of London venues. Her forthcoming solo EP is played on a variety of digital and FM radio stations.

Ruby is also the lead singer of quirky blues-folk collective Scarlet Kite, making edgy acoustic music with soulful vocals and their own harmonic twist, featuring Nina MacPherson’s beautiful harmonies and fine, finger-picking guitar or solid, lilting piano bases.

The flourishes on Scarlet Kite’s tail

are Karen Devereux’s ethereal flute

dynamics and Emily Johnson's

moving strings.
